It's been quite the week. We had a great time with Martha and Peter over the last two weekends and they left Sunday morning after waffles. We headed out to Top Ten Toys and Fred Meyer to find some birthday presents for Jasper. He had fun trying on the baseball gear. In the afternoon Matt and the kids played in the backyard while I worked away in the workshop. After the kids went to bed Matt and I had a drink in the backyard while hamburgers were on the bbq. It was lovely. Later that night I felt a little queasy and by morning I didn't feel great at all. Matt stayed home while I slept all day. Wednesday morning it was Matt's turn to get sick and very early Thursday morning (12:45) Jasper succumbed. It was a long night. Jasper was surprisingly sprightly by morning, but we took it easy. Now it's Friday and it's Jasper's birthday and the poor kid won't be having cake and ice cream tonight. We'll have to save the treats for next week!
Here are some pictures I missed from the last while. Jasper continues to be the most keen soccer player in his class. He has the fastest water breaks of any kid. He can't wait to run back and start playing more. You'll also see a picture of the best flower I've ever been given. It's a dandelion which apparently had one fluffy seed stuck to it when it was chosen. I've also included a lovely video of the kids playing music together.
