We love to go the locks when the salmon are running. Last weekend we trekked down for the first trip of the season. There were a couple of small fish that seemed quite lost. We all had fun anyway. Here are the boys near some cool public art above the salmon ladder. (Click on the images for a larger, clearer image). *
*Notice the grey sky in all the pictures. It's been nothing, but clouds and rain for 6 months. We can't wait for some sunshine!
The brunch crowds are very busy at Portage Bay, but we beat the lines by going before 9am. There are advantages to waking up before 7am each day. Jasper always orders pancakes and is not too shy to tell the waiter his request himself.
Octavia and Jasper are both teething which makes for interesting days and nights around here. At least the weather's good (it's not really). While cooped up inside Jasper has been very curious about reading and writing. Today he read the word "zoo" and it was in a book he hadn't read. He also holds his markers and crayons very well, much better than I did or do.
Yesterday morning we noticed that O's hair seemed to be longer and by night it was very obviously longer. It seems to be dark and curly. Her eyes are still pretty blue. It'll be fun to see how her colouring will end up. Here she is at exactly 4 months old.
Here is Octavia watching Jasper run back and forth. It's almost like she's watching a game of tennis.
