The brunch crowds are very busy at Portage Bay, but we beat the lines by going before 9am. There are advantages to waking up before 7am each day. Jasper always orders pancakes and is not too shy to tell the waiter his request himself.
Octavia and Jasper are both teething which makes for interesting days and nights around here. At least the weather's good (it's not really). While cooped up inside Jasper has been very curious about reading and writing. Today he read the word "zoo" and it was in a book he hadn't read. He also holds his markers and crayons very well, much better than I did or do.
Yesterday morning we noticed that O's hair seemed to be longer and by night it was very obviously longer. It seems to be dark and curly. Her eyes are still pretty blue. It'll be fun to see how her colouring will end up. Here she is at exactly 4 months old.
Here is Octavia watching Jasper run back and forth. It's almost like she's watching a game of tennis.
I made a terrible omission yesterday. Here is a picture of Jasper during his PBS kids television recovery day. You'll notice he's lying on some lovely pillows. My mum made the pillows and brought them on her recent visit. Aren't they nice? They're cozy too. I've included a couple more pics of the girl too.
I'm not sure how things seem to be more hectic these days, but they seem to be. I suppose Octavia, who is 12 weeks today, does sleep a little less during the day. She also likes to wake up just before or just after Jasper goes down for his nap.
Yesterday Jasper had a nasty stomach bug and I'm so glad he's doing better today. He's managing to eat Cheerios and drink Pedialyte. He's also teething those last two molars and having a rough time of it (see rosy cheeks below). Matt is home today due to the boy's sickness and the forecast of up to 6 inches of snow (which doesn't seem to be materializing).
The lack of posts is due to the batteries in the camera running out. Whenever I remembered to look for new ones I was busy doing something else. You know how it goes. I have since managed a few captured moments and here they are.
