Playdough
Lately Octavia had been into playdough. Hannah got playdough for the kids awhile ago and it came in a little backpack. We store it up high in the cabinet. Octavia points and insists that we get the "ba-pa" down. She manages to make quite a mess, but she plays with it for a really long time. Here's some video.
What?
This video is a couple of months old. Octavia did a lot of silly talking then. Granted cheese and cheeks sounds the same and so do water and watermelon, but she's certainly a real talker now. I started writing down her words this week and she's got more than 50 now.
She had her 18 month appointment on Tuesday and the doctor said she was perfect! She didn't even cry after her shots, her chin did quiver a little though.
Unusual Bread
Jasper is helping his dad knead the dough to make "unusual bread". That's what he calls unsliced bread, like baguette. Not sure how it started. I suspect we called it special bread and he remembered it as unusual bread. How could we correct that? The bread was excellent!
Norway Parade
The neighbourhood we live in was founded by northern european fishermen. So the Norway Day or Syttende Mai (Seventeenth of May) Parade is a big event. There are numerous old cars, high school bands, cheerleaders and cops on motorcycles. Jasper and Octavia had a blast and we ran into some friends which made it even more fun.
